The foreign student office of the FH-Ludwigshafen is responsible for the application procedure for foreign students wishing to study at the East Asia Institute. Foreign students at the East Asia Institue must not only fulfil the general admission requirements but also undergo an admission test. Intake for both the Chinese and Japanese programmes takes place once a year in the winter semester which begins in October. Prior to application students are advised to get in touch with the student advisor.
General admission requirements 1. German 'Abitur' or 'Fachhochschulreife' or a foreign equivalent 2. proficiency in German 3. 12 weeks of relevant work experience 4. recommendation by admissions committee
Entrance examinations Business Management at the East Asia Institute is a demanding course of study which makes an entrance examination necessary.
The entrance examinations take place each year in July at the East Asia Institute in Ludwigshafen. Exact dates are announced in the Calendar as soon as they are available.Candidates should plan to spend at least one day at the Institute for this purpose. Every effort will be made to inform candidates of their admission status as soon as possible. Candidates should expect notification no later than mid-September.
The examination consists of a sixty-minute mathematics test, a sixty-minute English test and two 15-minute panel interviews with EAI staff. The math test covers the mathematics of finance, set theory, analysis and linear algebra. The English test is multiple choice covering lower-intermediate to advanced grammar.
Chinese or Japanese programme Students may elect either the China or Japanese programme upon enrolment. Native Chinese speakers are encouraged to select the Japanese programme and similarly native Japanese speakers the Chinese programme.
Student advisor Prospective students are highly recommended to make an appointment for a personal interview at the East Asia Institute as early as possible to obtain information concerning the programmes and ask questions related to their studies.
